MD® FAQ: Answers About MD Lash Factor, Brow, Hair, Skin, & Wellness

Welcome to the MD® FAQ page—your trusted source for science-backed answers about our physician-developed beauty and wellness products. MD® products are developed under physician guidance in the USA and manufactured in GMP-certified facilities. Manufacturing locations for individual products are listed below.

General Brand Questions

Where is MD® manufactured?

MD® products are designed and developed in the USA, and most are manufactured in FDA-registered, GMP-certified facilities in the USA. We selectively partner with specialty labs globally for specific innovations: MD® Flawless Factor and MD® Mineral Block are manufactured in South Korea, while the Face/Neck Lifting Mask and MD® Extra White Serum are manufactured in Taiwan.

Does MD® ship internationally?

Yes! We offer international shipping to help customers worldwide access our physician-formulated solutions. We offer free standard shipping on all orders over $199. For complete peace of mind, we recommend adding Route Package Protection at checkout to safeguard your order against loss, damage, or delays.

Do MD® products contain prescription drugs?

MD® products are non-prescription cosmetic and nutraceutical formulations. They contain no bimatoprost, latanoprost, minoxidil, or finasteride. Formulations differ across the MD range — MD Lash Factor®, for example, contains dechloro ethylcloprostenolamide, a cosmetic-grade prostaglandin analogue used as a cosmetic ingredient. Please check the ingredient list on the product you are interested in. Our formulas are also gluten-free, sulfate-free, colourant-free, fragrance-free, and paraben-free.

MD® Enzyme Mask

What is the MD® Enzyme Mask, and how does it rejuvenate my skin?

The MD® Enzyme Mask is a professionally-formulated, non-abrasive peel-off mask. It harnesses the power of natural fruit enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and impurities. Rather than physical scrubbing, it uses enzymatic exfoliation to reveal a smoother, brighter-looking complexion, which many people find gentler on the skin.

How does the MD® Enzyme Mask differ from other peels?

Our mask features a biocompatible blend of enzymes that provide a "smart-exfoliation" experience. While chemical peels can disrupt the skin barrier, the MD® Enzyme Mask is formulated to act primarily on the protein bonds holding dead surface cells. Most people find they can return to their normal routine straight away, with little or no visible flaking.

Can I use the MD® Enzyme Mask if I use a prescription Retin-A or Retinol?

Yes, but we recommend "skincare cycling." Use the MD® Enzyme Mask on your "off-nights" from Retin-A. The enzymes help clear away the dry, dead skin cells that retinoids turn over, helping to reduce flaking and allowing your treatments to penetrate more effectively.

Can I use the MD® Enzyme Mask before a big event (Wedding/Photo Shoot)?

The formula is designed to be gentle and generally does not leave skin visibly red or flaking. If you are using it before an important event, we recommend a trial run at least a week beforehand. It works well as a final step 24 hours before an event to create a smooth, luminous canvas for makeup application.

Can I use the MD® Enzyme Mask on sensitive skin?

Yes. The MD® Enzyme Mask is designed to be gentle on sensitive, reactive, and blemish-prone skin. It cleanses and exfoliates while maintaining the skin's natural moisture balance. We always recommend a patch test before your first use, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

What are the key enzymes and active ingredients?

Our formula features a synergistic blend of:

  • Papaya & Pineapple Enzymes: Natural catalysts that dissolve dead skin and unclog pores.
  • Aloe Vera: Soothes and provides deep hydration.
  • Chamomile Extract: Helps skin feel calm and comfortable.
How do I properly apply the mask for best results?

Follow these simple steps for the best experience:

  1. Cleanse your face thoroughly and pat dry.
  2. Apply a thin, even layer, avoiding the eyes and eyebrows.
  3. Allow the mask to dry for 15–20 minutes until it forms a flexible film.
  4. Gently peel off from the edges and rinse with lukewarm water.
  5. Follow with MD® Vitamin C Serum or your favorite moisturizer.
How often should I use the mask?

For optimal results, we recommend using the mask 2–3 times per week. This frequency helps maintain a radiant glow and helps limit the buildup of impurities that lead to dullness and congestion.

Is the formula cruelty-free?

Yes. MD® is committed to ethical beauty. The MD® Enzyme Mask is cruelty-free and is never tested on animals.
